Renovation of Classrooms – St. Columba's Higher Secondary School, Chengalpattu

Creating Better Learning Spaces Through Infrastructure Support
CSR Project: 2024–2025
Project Title: Renovation of 4 Classrooms – St. Columba's Higher Secondary School
Location: Chengalpattu, Tamil Nadu
CSR Contribution: ₹5 Lakhs
Project Duration: FY 2024–2025
As part of our continued mission to improve educational infrastructure across Tamil Nadu, HECS took up a significant renovation project during the financial year 2024–2025. This initiative focused on the renovation of four classrooms at St. Columba's Higher Secondary School in Chengalpattu.
The school, located in a semi-urban region, has been a vital educational centre for children from low-income families. However, over the years, several classrooms had deteriorated due to ageing infrastructure, water damage, and lack of maintenance, affecting both safety and the learning experience of students.
Understanding the importance of a clean, safe, and engaging academic environment, HECS undertook the task of fully renovating four classrooms. This included structural repairs, new flooring, fresh wall painting, improved ventilation, proper lighting, ceiling enhancements, and desk refurbishments. The goal was to create modern, functional, and student-friendly classrooms that support active learning and comfort.
The renovation has made a visible difference in the morale of both students and teachers. With clean, well-lit, and ventilated spaces, the school now offers an improved educational environment that encourages better attendance, focus, and engagement. The upgraded infrastructure also strengthens the school’s capacity to continue serving future batches of students effectively.
This project represents HECS’s commitment to building not just facilities, but futures. By improving the learning environment for hundreds of children in Chengalpattu, we reaffirm our belief that every child deserves access to quality education in a dignified space.
We are proud to have partnered with CSI St. Columba's Higher Secondary School and will continue to support educational institutions that shape tomorrow’s leaders.
