HECS proudly celebrated the 77th Republic Day of India, bringing employees together to honour the values of unity, responsibility, and progress that define the nation. The celebration commenced with a flag hoisting ceremony, where employees gathered to mark the occasion with a shared sense of pride and purpose.

Addressing the gathering, the CEO, Dr. JR Moses, highlighted the importance of collective responsibility in nation-building and emphasized HECS’s role in driving sustainable practices through science, innovation, and environmental stewardship. The address reinforced the organisation’s commitment to aligning growth with environmental responsibility.

As a key highlight of the celebration, HECS launched the HECS Plantation Drive 2026, an initiative aimed at strengthening employee participation in climate action. Over 100 tagged saplings were distributed to employees, encouraging them to plant the saplings at their homes and take ownership of their growth. Each sapling can be tracked to monitor its development, including biomass generation, carbon dioxide sequestration, and oxygen generation, enabling employees to tangibly measure the environmental impact of their contribution.

This initiative fostered a strong sense of commitment among employees, as they became active participants in environmental conservation and climate change mitigation rather than passive observers. The ability to track measurable outcomes reinforced the real-world impact of individual actions when driven by a collective vision.

HECS has set an ambitious target to plant 2,000 saplings by the end of the year, contributing meaningfully to a greener and more sustainable country. On this occasion, employees also pledged to work responsibly towards sustainability, environmental protection, and long-term ecological balance in all aspects of their work.
