HECS GREEN SKILL

Hubert Enviro Care Systems (HECS) recently hosted students from the University of Madras (EIACP Centre) for a specialized Green Skill Development Programme (GSDP) on “Waste Optimization Professional”, funded by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC).

Conducted across two intensive batches in January, the programme was designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world industrial practice. Students received hands-on exposure at HECS Hosts Green Skill Development Programme for University of Madras Students funded by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC)HECS’s Guindy laboratory, gaining practical insights into environmental monitoring, laboratory practices, and quality-driven data generation.

SKILL HECS

The training programme covered key domains essential to modern environmental management. Participants were trained in drinking water quality testing and microbiological assessment, with a strong focus on Good Laboratory Practices (GLP). Sessions on advanced analytical instrumentation provided exposure to technologies such as Gas Chromatography–Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS), Inductively Coupled Plasma–Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS), and Atomic Absorption Spectrometry (AAS) for the analysis of organic and inorganic contaminants.

HECS SKILL DEVELOPEMENT

In addition, students received practical training in air and soil quality assessment, including volatile organic compound (VOC) monitoring, air pollutant detection, and scientific soil sampling and preparation techniques. Throughout the programme, HECS experts emphasised the importance of ISO/IEC 17025:2017, highlighting quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) as critical components of reliable, globally accepted environmental data.

HECS SKILL STUDENTS

Speaking on the initiative, HECS reiterated its commitment to capacity building in the environmental sector. By opening its laboratories and treatment facilities to students, the organization aims to contribute to the development of a skilled workforce capable of supporting national environmental priorities, regulatory compliance, and measurable climate action.

HECS expressed its appreciation to the University of Madras and MoEF&CC for the opportunity to collaborate on this initiative and reaffirmed its belief that sustainability is driven by scientific expertise, data integrity, and continuous skill development.
