Setting a New Benchmark in Municipal Wastewater Treatment

Hubert Enviro Care Systems Limited (HECS) successfully executed South India's First & Largest Municipal Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) Sewage Treatment Plant, commissioned by the Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (CMWSSB) and inaugurated by Hon'ble Chief Minister Thiru M.K. Stalin.

This landmark facility represents a major advancement in municipal wastewater treatment by integrating Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) technology, which combines biological treatment with ultrafiltration membranes to produce exceptionally high-quality treated water. Unlike conventional treatment systems, MBR eliminates the need for secondary clarifiers while achieving superior removal of suspended solids, pathogens, and organic contaminants.
The compact design enables higher treatment capacity within limited land availability, making it an ideal solution for densely populated urban environments. The treated water supports wastewater recycling, groundwater recharge, and contributes to the ecological restoration of Villivakkam Lake, reinforcing Chennai's commitment to sustainable water management.
