The increasing prevalence of food adulteration poses serious risks to consumer health. HECS researchers are investigating both intentional and incidental adulterants in turmeric powder, including chemical additives, metallic contaminants, and other foreign substances. Our research evaluates how environmental factors influence turmeric purity, examining soil conditions, agricultural practices, and storage methods that may contribute to adulteration. Through this study, we aim to enhance food safety regulations and provide guidelines for ensuring the authenticity and medicinal value of turmeric in the market.
